Moby Dick Hostel & Lodging welcomes travelers and backpackers from all over the world. We are located in downtown Seward, close to the Alaska Sealife Center and the Seward Small Boat Harbor. Seward, on Resurrection Bay, is the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park, including tidewater glaciers and Exit Glacier. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area. You might see bear or moose, and if you go on a day cruise: orcas, humpback whales, sealions, otters, seals, puffins and lots of other birds.
We offer a 10% discount on boat tours to the Kenai Fjords National Park with Kenai Fjords Tours or Major Marine Tours, if you book them through us.
Types of Accommodation:
Lodging Rooms
Our lodging rooms have one double and one twin (single) bed. The rooms have a fully equipped kitchenette, with a two-burner stove and a mini-fridge. Shared bathroom.
Basic Hostel Private Room / Family Room
We offer basic rooms with one queen size bed and some rooms also have an additional bunk bed. They are very basic rooms. Linens are provided. There is fully equipped kitchen available. Shared bathrooms. Some of our basic hostel private rooms are located in a different building, approx. one block from the main hostel.
Hostel Beds (Dormitory Style Accommodation)
Our dormitory rooms usually accommodate 6 persons (3 bunk beds). You can rent one bed or an entire rooms. Linens are included. Shared bathrooms. Access to fully equipped kitchen.
Moby Dick Hostel is closed through the winter months and we will open again at the end of April 2012.
We start taking reservations for next summer by e-mail starting January 2012.
Basic Hostel Rules:
Quiet hours between 11pm and 7 am.
No smoking anywhere in the buildings.
No alcohol allowed in hostel.
We do not have any TV or private bathrooms.
